Today, The Creation Station Studios is a self-tape academy and creation hub for actors, artists, influencers, brands and companies. It started as a self-tape studio run by two working actors. Ten thousand tapes later, we teach the skills that compound and, with Plopjoy, we build what creators need to grow.

How it started

From 10,000 Tapes to the Trading Floor

We built The Creation Station Studios in 2014 and recorded more than 10,000 self tapes across Los Angeles, Texas and New York: over $4M in productions for clients repped by CAA, UTA, Gersh, Paradigm and APA. Along the way, we helped countless actors book roles on shows, movies, TV series and commercials.

In short, ten thousand tapes taught us one thing: what books a role is a strong performance, good light and clean audio, not an expensive studio. Then, technology caught up. Phones got good enough, apps got free, and every actor became their own studio. So we pivoted. We put everything we learned into the Self-Tape Academy, and we now teach actors, YouTubers and influencers to trade futures with prop firm capital, build credit and build a real business.

The Gatekeepers Are Gone

The moment every actor had a decent phone camera and a free editing app, self-taping stopped being a business and became a race to the bottom. Meanwhile, the same shift is happening across the industry: the people who used to decide who gets to produce, publish and get paid are no longer the gatekeepers. As a result, anyone can produce their own content and monetize it, if they do it correctly. Auditions are a competition. Trading, credit and business building are not.

The Working Actors Behind The Creation Station Studios

In other words, we are not finance-bro theorists: we are two actors who lived the audition grind, ran the studio, and now teach what we use.

Kevin L. Walker

Kevin worked as an actor from 2004 to 2018, booking national commercials for Disney, Ford, McDonald’s, Toyota, Levi’s, Samsung and Bud Light. After that, he turned pro in poker in 2010, then moved into futures trading and building companies. He has founded businesses in eight industries, including Kevinomics Consulting (financial education and 1:1 strategy), Plopjoy (AI-powered websites and automation, co-founded with Donnabella), Barber Backpack and Creative Geniusess. Above all, family comes first, and it is who he builds for.

Donnabella Mortel Walker

Born and raised in Seattle, Donnabella has worked on camera and behind the microphone for about twenty years, with more than 50 screen credits including How to Get Away with Murder, NCIS, Jane the Virgin, Westworld and The Young and the Restless, plus national commercials for McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, T-Mobile, Verizon and Ford. In addition, she won the 2016 Audie Award for her multi-voiced narration of Illuminae, earned an AudioFile Earphones Award, and voiced Zenkalla and Targa in Horizon Forbidden West. Finally, she created the Emotional Range Training and Make It Land courses and co-founded Plopjoy.
